I only go as high as 12 in my pole and that is elasticated through the top 3. I use 3.5lb mainline with a 3.0lb hooklength.
I'd go for 3 with the 10 as well and maybe 4 for the 16 & 18. The packets in which the elastic comes in will have what line to use for each strength, it's hard to say because every manufacturer is different. HB. |

Edd Put them all through top 3s or if your new pole has "power top two's" then through the top two. Basicly you are looking for about two meters of elastic for most circumstances.
Two things to think of; is the pole capable of taking a size 16 or 18 and if so do the venues you fish require such strong elastic. If you read through the fishing magazines you will find very few of the top match anglers that use anything more than a 12 or 14 except in very specific circumstances. |

Edd just to add to what AWOOE has said.To give you a good indication of what size elastic you use with a given line size just look on the back of a packet of elastic! most manufacturers print a table on the back giving this information. Not very technical Im afraid but it works for me!
