i have read the article on chub from small rivers in the latest edition of iycf and i got me thinking of the nearest small river to me, what i came up with, i think is the river penkat penkridge, some of you may know it, the stretch in particular i am reffering to is a dual carridgeway bridge with a pub which i think is called the bridge or something to that effect, the only other refferance i can make to its location is that we drove over the bride on the way to stafford from wolverhampton.
disregarding landownership and fishing right's issues if i were to give this river a go do you people think it plausable that there would be chub in there which were of a decent size say a few pounds and catchable.

cheers
ben.

I fished that area way back when I was 17 and my first car gave me the freedom to spread my wings.

It's been some years, at that time I think it was Hazeldine AC, but as for now I haven't a clue.

There are chub in the Penk and definitely worth a go.

I know Weston Under Lizard has a couple of stretches of the Penk round there. The fish aren`t massive but a 3 is a possibility. Personally I`d keep going and head for the Mease!!

If you do fish the place keep mobile and quiet, a lot of water is barren of fish then you`ll bump into a shoal concentrated round a tight area.
