ive just read the times article and im shocked to read that out of 50 representatives in the stakeholders advisory group that 25 are civil servants and the other 24 are commercial fishermen and reps from the food fish industry and only 1 representing rsa's, tell me this is not true leon? if it is how the hell is one guy against a minimum 24 gonna sway the goverment to look at things a little bit are way. if this is common knowledge excuse me but i am trying to catch up on events.

er, It's not just one guy!

I've been roped in too!! (one of Richard Ferre's team, referred to in the report!)

It's not so much the numbers that count (we don't vote), but ideas and persuasive presentation!

In my stakeholder group (Environmental), I was asked to do a presentation on Marine Protected Areas, to kick off our group discussions. The presentation was well received and led most of the following debate.

(now for my trouble, I'm working with the DEFRA team taking the issue forward!)

But what is really important is the amount of emails and letters that anglers keep sending in, making sure that when any of our few representatives say something, they are listened too carefully, the managers, beuracrats and politicians aware that when we talk, we talk for many.

if the managers, beuracrats and politicians were aware that when anyone talks, they talk for many then nothing naughty would happen but it does so they dont give a toss and carry on doing their thing regardless of what anyone thinks/says
after all in a choice its not always the majority that carry it forward ,take labour being in power the greater % of votes wern't for them
they may nod and seem to agree but behind our backs bank balances are being voted on not items of any importance ,if they did what the greater number said then we would be britain and the rest of the foreign scum sunk even if they thought about doing anything naughty ,we may have rules binding british fishing but it wont bother anyone else they'l just do what they always have and ignore us biggrin.gif
the only marine protection that will work is the destroyer ,if anything fishes inside blow it up not spend thousands trying to take them to court rolleyes.gif

everything can be fixed with WD40 and duck tape.
If it moves and it shouldnt --duck tape
If it doesnt and it should-- WD40
