Assuming they are still there go to Watercraft Products at Apperley Bridge and speak to John Gilpin.

They used to do free casting lessons during the spring / summer.

If not they should be able to point you in the right direction.

If you get no joy come back to me as I have a friend who delights in teaching the art of casting a fly! And he's not bad at it either.

It is to be observed that 'angling' is the name given to fishing by people who can't fish.

If GOD had NOT meant us to go fishing, WHY did he give us arms then??

(If you can't help out someone in need then don't bother my old Dad always said! My grandma put it a LITTLE more, well different! It's like peeing yourself in a black pair of pants she said! It gives you a LOVELY warm feeling but no-one really notices!))

The guy who opened up in Silsden always threatened me with some cheap lessons, have you tried there tinca?

Alan Roe's not that far away and sometimes fishes up the skipton end, a few minutes with alan brought on my casting dramatically.

Phil, It wasn't me who was enquiring about lessons (although I could most certainly do with some). You raise an interesting point though. You must be talking about Geoff Trigg at GeeTee's. I didn't know he actually gave casting lessons, I'll have to have a word. He once threatened to take me out for a days fishing on one of the Bradford Waltonians waters...perhaps I should point that out again to him....!!

Bradford, his (shop) telephone number is (01535) 655555. Might be worth a shot.

Yes Tinca, that was the guy, nice bloke, not as gruff as Dave at KL tackle, but unfortunatly I couldn't bob there at lunch time when I worked in Keighley, mind you Dave was OK, once you got to know him.

Where's this guy planning to fish once he has his training, there are some lovely fish up at the spot in Lothersdale if he's planning somethin different.
