My condolences, Frodo. I can only echo what kleinboat has already said.

My dad died just over 20 years ago.

I still feel him near me when I'm fishing.

And sometimes almost hear him giving advice.

If it wasn't for my Dad I wouldn't be an angler. Valuable people, Dads. Bless 'em all.

Dear Chaps,

Aside from the few times that Dad took my brother and me fishing, he was never an angler. His passion was gardening. But talking of "passion", Dad always watched the "Passion for Angling" series on the telly religiously.

Dad once said to me that by "not" being an angler unlike his two sons, he thought he had missed out on experiencing all those sun rises his boys had seen over many a long year. Missed mother nature in all her glory.

Sad to think that now he's gone, this morning's sun rise would have given him so much simple pleasure.

"Savour the day my lads, for tomorrow will come soon enough"

Sit with me some more man of steel.

Regards,

Lee.
