Next season i want to try fishing a flat float for the first time and i havnt got a clue can some one please help?

anyway I'll try to answer your Q
Flat floats are used on moving water, mainly rivers, they can be a little tricky to set-up
You need to weight them to suit the speed of the water and at the same time to cock the float at the correct depth, then in theory, as you "hold back" the float, in the flow of the water, the float stem, along with the hooklength will lie at about 45 degrees below the surface of the water with the hook just off the bottom of the river bed and the sight tip of the float should be upright in the water.Hoorah!
I find, the faster the water the larger the float you will need. Give it a try, but if you find it difficult to set-up, make sure you take some "Stick" floats with you, they are easier to set-up...Good luck
