yeah i get what u meen. i have used them once before but i had 1 bite andthey didnt produce no wear near as good as luncheon meat.

red wool or dead fish or dead fish with a bit of red wool ,maggots (usually wool free) worms ,mostly dead stuff or stuff the eel sees as natural din dins ,the wool can catch as they think its a bundle of worms or other aquatic wormy things ,i used to use it in the close season you dont even need a hook ,unfortunatly eels are scarcer now ,or a bit brighter

i no ive caught 2 and my friend has caught about 5 in our last few visits so i consider ourselves quite lucky
its tryin 2 hold the buggers and unhook em i hate.
i have herd to make them lie still u shud put them on eiva dry soil or newspaper. is it ture mate?

Just hold them upside down and stroke them.
This aplies to most fish also.
