welcome spud

try here for a few knots
http://www.claphaman...co.uk/knots.htm

i recently purchased one of those complete carp fishing kits and have to say for value for money there great for a starter, but it really depends on your budget
as for bait im still looking for that 'magic one' maybee corn, boilies, luncheon meat, pellets, the list goes on and on!!! Try talking to the baliff and see whats a good bait or walking round the venues your going to fish and taking a quick peek at what others are using/catching with :D dont be too nosy though

hope this helped a bit

Hi Spud, welcome to AN.There has never been a better time to buy carp gear than now! You can get some great priced "starter" outfits. As for the fishing keep it nice and simple to start with.Plenty of information avaiable in both books and here on the net.Good luck and dont be afraid to ask. :)
And thats my "non indicative opinion"!

There are 3 web site links in responses here.

All are UK based companies as far as I can see. Which did you think was 'american'?
