..................................... RSA has numbers. If apathy reigns and Recreational Sea Anglers can’t be bothered to put pen to paper, or finger to keyboard, then an increase in the bass MLS is likely to once again be moved to the back burner.
Not surprisingly there has been some lively ‘debate’ on at least one of the larger angling forums, with a number of the more vociferous ‘posters’ lambasting the Angling Trust for their stance and support of the bass MLS drive. It’s an unfortunate fact of life that those having a complaint, or perceived grievance, will make the effort to contact and voice that grievance, whilst those, who may be a majority, stay silent. Please, if you support what BASS is trying to do, in addition to dropping a line to Richard Benyon (and your local MP), go that extra step and drop a line to David Mitchell. It needn’t be much . . . lets just neutralise the ‘naysayers’ by providing at least as many saying they support the Angling Trust’s backing of the bass MLS increase.
end quote.
As usual, missing the point that there is no avenue of communication with rsa to consult and to get a mandate an opinion and a vote before contacting the minister. Both bass and the trust would rather do the reverse, relying on thier few 'friends who have paid, then use the words angling apathy to the very pepole who they need to embrace. Until the times comes that the trust starts to communicate, consult, proir to running to the minister and as opposed to releasing rubbish rsa press releases. They get what they deserve.
Note my finger is to the keyboard, mr bassman.
Different now, Mr Mitchell never asked the rsa re the tope take ban reaffirmation this year, yet you suggest we drop him a line. He needs to start consulting first.
Free to choose apart from the ones where the trust poked their nose in.
shame on the trust for being party to dragging the rsa into the failed cfp, because they can sniff funding.
Angling is better than politics, ban politics from angling.
Consumer of bass.
Recipie's for mullet stew more than welcomed.
Angling sanitation trust delete's and blocks rsa's alternative opinion on their face book site. Although they claim to rep all.
Kent & Essex Sea Anglers, block alternative opinion on their face book page, shame full.

What has that to do with B.A.S.S. and the Angling Trust other than it is just one more thing for you to slate. The stats here are not much to write home about as for your own effort that’s a big fat zero. You might try putting things right with those you Mr Luxton have peed off before giving me advice.

Nothing you have done ,said or acheived has had any credibility, how many charter skippers and guys who support the coast guard have anything of value to thank you or back you, none whatsoever.(Funny how my backing the government plans re the coastguard was put to the test by both an extended consultation and cross party review and those plans remain almost the same) thats before you attempt to guesstimate how many rsa you have 'p' off. (Now you don’t know this but have you any room to talk, not according to a recent Facebook post you ain't.) How many wish to thank you for your errr achievements? What are you doing here anyway, you have nothing of value. (I’m a member here and as entitled to a view just as much as you) Your bass arguments are worthless. (Oh really?) As is your attempt to coerse a charter boat co on how to conduct thier business. (You mean ‘coheres’ if so who is that then?) Is that how you class being a rsa rep? (Again your point is?)You wern't an oportunity. (It was and you wernt up to it is the sad truth) Even gun loaders have distanced themselves from you and the org. (The org is fine and Facebook being the way to go but you can’t even get that right) Hows the board members dream team getting on? (Thought you would know after all you are the know it all of the sea fishing internet fraternity aren’t you? Perhaps not.)
Barry and Bill the misfits of the internet what a joke?

ho ho ho, as ever, yap, yap, yap nothing to back up anything, Bet Mrs Murrey don't share your view after you 'put' her right. Bass, you failed that discard test, Steering committee you was sacked from. Agree to dissagree
The org, nothing to counter the facts that there are half a dozen 'active' members (thats less than ten btw) real sea anglers, who havn't posted for weeks and weeks, does active mean that they go and read, to see if it's still open, na that one 's history, only a matter of when.
Facebook page was set up to enchorage all, youngters etc, unfortunatly your hidden non existant mod allows explenatives of the best kind. The only posts are started off with your wish list taken straight from your own imagination.
The only topics you contribute to on this web site is to put someone down, no problem as far as i'm concerned, yet as ever, valuless sport. You don't put up any fishey happenings, non angler related posts, nope nothing there as well, one question, what else are you here for, or am i right. hot and windy. very inovative changing from black to red, highlight of the post, very effective and informative, nothing of value though.

I’m here mush because you looked all sad lonely posting to yourself and thought well if you haven’t realised why no one has bothered to reply to you then I would try and help explain, which I did in post number two. That was on topic by the way and your topic to boot, all you could muster was a load of personal insults, so it seems to me you’re the one who don’t want to talk about either the topic you started or anything to do with fishing even when I'm the only other person interested.
So lets try again, you reckon B.A.S.S. will get the government to change the MLS do ya? Well the minister said quote ‘Not without a full public consultation’ and if you think for one moment he is going to tell the CF industry they will have to go and buy more nets that catch fewer fish when it was the UK that stopped a new TAC for the winter bass fishing in the channel then I reckon your barking up the wrong tree Barry.
What you should IMPO be asking is how the Angling Trust are getting so much government funding , yes tax payers money when they have so few members? You have heard about their latest windfall I take it?

Anglers Trust, not a year old at the time and money was the main problem, YES i did contibute, and YES i have dropped out, another empty promise organisation, IMHO.
The sooner angling bodies start to listen to anglers on the bank, on the boat, on the shore, on the rocks, then we MIGHT head forward instead of taking steps back.
And YES i am a member of the EA consultaion panel. Not sitting with them, but online consultaion list. Have been for a while, what have we/they achieved, cleaner rivers yes, more flood water barriers, more consultation with the government about this and that, but in real terms, sorry NOTHING at all to unite angling and to have a stronger word in the running of angling.
The SOONER angling becomes less POLITICAL, then the wheels might start to turn and ALL ANGLERS will have a voice in the running of our sport
One of the main gripes for me is the catch quota, and foreign nationals fishing within our waters.
