Fishing Show, Italy’s Sports Fishing event, will be held from 27 February to 2 March 2009 in the halls of the BolognaFiere showground. The third edition of this international event is already shaping up to be the most interesting exhibition of the year: the top sports fishing fair. Visitors will include all the greatest Italian and international sports anglers, alongside showbiz personalities and fishing enthusiasts. The show has a programme that already comprises over one hundred events taking place over the four-day period. The schedule features all sorts of appointments: high-level conferences, right through to practical events such as interactive demonstrations open to visitors for the duration of Fishing Show.
Over a hundred exhibiting companies will be present in the exhibition hall at this edition of the show. Two pools will be used for practical demonstrations by fishing champions and experts in technique. A specific area will be dedicated to advanced angling, where experts will meet the public, illustrating all the latest developments. Another area will feature professional fly-tyers. There will be a photography exhibition comprising shots by all those anglers who took part in the respective competition, and this will undoubtedly present a wealth of colour and fascinating subject-matter. In the aquarium area, a range of the most interesting and unusual species will be presented, and this section includes an educational exhibition for children and adults. In summary, Fishing Show will comprise a whole series of exciting activities. One of the culminating moments will be a draw for over a hundred prizes, for which all visitors are eligible.
This edition presents a new departure with respect to Fishing Show in previous years, because its duration has been increased by one day, from three days to four. This has already been favourably commented, winning appreciation from companies in the sector because, with a day dedicated specifically to trade, they can develop contacts with professionals in the field more efficiently. The extra day therefore transforms the Show into a business appointment as well as an event for the general public.
Friday 27 February: Fishing Show opens at 11.00 am and closes at 6.30 pm
Saturday 28 February – Sunday 1 March: the Show opens at 9.00 am and closes at 18.30 pm. On these first three days, Fishing Show is open to the public, offering the trade fair itself, as well as entertainment and all sorts of events.
Monday 2 March: a day dedicated to trade visitors. Fishing Show opens at 9.00 am and ends at 4.00 pm.

Reaching the show
Bologna is strategically located. The city has an airport, and it is at the centre of important motorway and railway hubs. It is therefore easy to reach by car, and it also benefits from efficient public transport connections. The entrance to Fishing Show is the showground’s principal gate in Piazza della Costituzione.

By train
Bologna is an important hub in Italy’s rail network and so it is easily reached from all over Italy.
Bologna’s Central Station is just 10 minutes from the BolognaFiere showground, with public transport links, lines 10, 35 and 38, to the trade fair entrances in Piazza Costituzione and Viale Aldo Moro. The public transport ticket costs €1, and it should be purchased before boarding the bus.
