Angling Trust news release

The Angling Trust is looking for talented anglers who would like to take part in the England U18s and U23s coarse youth trials.

The U18s and U23s World Championships are due to be staged in Slovenia along a deep slow river where bloodworm and joker, pole and waggler tactics will be the main attack on 28th-29th July 2012.

Drennan Team England U23s trial 2012

This years trial venue is the Gloucester Canal at Hempstead on Saturday 14th April.  The venue is an ideal depth for this trial and has a mix of both roach and bream.

As usual the competitors will be fishing to full international rules and there will be 2 x 3 hour sessions on the day. (Rules are available on the FIPS.ed website at; http://www.fips-ed.com/peche_au_coup_eng.htm

Bait allowances for each session are 10 litres mixed groundbait and leam, ½ litre joker / bloodworm per session and 1litre of other baits.  No bread punch or pellets are allowed.

You must be under 23 years of age on 31st December 2012 to apply.

Sensas Team England U18s trial 2012

The England U18s trial will be taking place at Gold Valley Lakes, at Aldershot, Hampshire on Saturday 28th April 2012.  In order to take part in the trials you must be under 18 years of age on 31st December 2012.

Bait allowances for the trial will be 1 litre of casters, 10 litres brown bait/leam, and ½ litre of bloodworm and joker, and fishing to full international rules.

Applicants for both trials must impress the England Youth Managers, Mark Downes (U23s) and Steve Sanders (U18s).   Both Managers will be looking for talented youngsters who have the ability to fish under pressure.

Anyone wishing to apply must be individual members of the Angling Trust, and membership is FREE for anyone 17 years of age and under.  Angling Trust membership application forms are available at www.anglingtrust.net/join .
