Chub are pleased to announce Alex Bransby as the winner of the Chub Carp Academy competition in Total Carp Magazine.

Alex, 30 from Northamptonshire has been fishing for over twenty years, specifically targeting Carp for the last fifteen and has taken part in various Carp matches.

Alex enjoys Carp fishing on a variety of different lakes, rivers and canals around the Nene Valley and has caught many Carp in their twenties and thirties. Alex’s current Carp PB is 38lb.

Alex highlights his strengths as being able to quickly adapt to a wide variety of venues and the challenges they bring. He also emphasises the importance of observation as the smallest of signs can make all the difference.
Entrants for the competition in Total Carp Magazine were required to complete three steps.

Step one was to collect all three tokens from three monthly issues of Total Carp Magazine. Entrants were then required to write a five hundred word CV biography about why they should be considered by the judges as a winner for the new academy member position.

Winning the competition will give Alex the opportunity to be a full member of the Chub Carp Academy for six months, working alongside expert anglers from the Academy including Chub Carp Academy manager, Jason Green, John Patterson, Darren Belton, Chris Lowe and James Coleman.

I am passionate about Carp fishing and I am always thinking outside of the box to further my results. Being involved within the academy is going to be a fantastic experience as well as a great insight into the industry which I am very much looking forward to”.
