The Greys 12’ X-Flite 3.5lb Plus rod has proven a huge success since its launch, and has helped to land a monster Mirror.

The 52lb Mirror was caught by Andy MacFadyen from Glasgow Angling Centre at the French venue, Etang de Laroussi.

Andy has been carp fishing for over eighteen years, regularly taking fishing trips abroad. This fish was caught on a 15mm Scopex Squid pop-up using a 6 inch 25lb Kryston Mantis hook link with 1 inch stripped back. The hook was a korda wide gap size 6 barbless.

Taking fifteen minutes to land, the fish put up a good fight and was not the only big one of the trip as Andy also accounted for two 51lb 10oz and 34lb 8oz Mirrors with the best Common weighing in at a stunning 43lb 5oz.

Greys would like to congratulate Andy on his new personal best.

Andy MacFadyen said;

“The Greys X-Flite Plus rod is an incredibly powerful rod. Combined with the action to play big fish under the rod tip with confidence, nothing compares to it.”
