Tough cold day with only 3 silvers being caught the rest were carp and no one caught on pole.

A week where weather conditions played a big part in shoaling up fish, with ENE winds, overnight frosts, sleet, snow, and some partial ice on the lakes. Fish caught were mostly up of the bottom by 9 inches to avoid colder base level, and they are looking to find any  thermals even fractions of degree difference in water temperatures got the fish feeding with longer daylight hours. Water temperature has been up to 1.9 and down to 1.2 deg making fishing very tough, at least the spring is on its way thank goodness, as all the water birdlife are now pairing up.

Bassetts got Netted on Monday with all the fish being transferred to the Bowes Lake, these included Ide, Orfe, Skimmers, Golden Tench, Tench, Rudd, Golden Rudd, Roach, Crucians, & Carp, approximately 1200 to 1600 lb of fish being transferred, added to silvers already in this makes the Bowes lake a good mixed course lake added to Lookout and Bassetts.

New fish going into bassetts are some stunning Orfe golden, orange and blue and Ide to 3lb plus,  we also stocked skimmers, excellent bream rudd, roach, crucians, and 500 carp. We will have a high biomass in Bassetts and need to carefully manage it over the year and feed it as well as aerate it. This should be a fabulous pond to fish in with excellent choice of good sized quality fish which has been stocked.

Lookout has had a strange week with Sunday mainly silvers being caught whilst Wednesday it was mainly carp, and no one caught on the pole on Wednesday all fish caught were on the tip, maggot still working best

Bowes has also fished tough however some hardy anglers catching some good carp as well as the odd silver and tench.

Bassetts is on rest period with just being stocked for a couple of weeks.
