Damp Fog and overcast, ambient temp 1 deg, humidity 93%, wind calm not a ripple till 1 oclock then 3mph W, barometer low 998mb, moon phase waning gibbous, sunrise 8.24 am, sunset 3.38pm, not a lot of light in the days, water temp 1.3 deg, DO 13.4, PH 7.55, conductivity -55.   Coldest Dec for 30 years has kept water temperatures down to lowest on our records, Friday evening with all the wind and rain defrosted the lakes and the continuous rain of Saturday has put a lot of cold water in also.

John did not catch for 2hours and 30 mins. then at 10mtres out on pole all on maggot on hook, toss pot full groundbait every 20 mins,  spraying 4-6 maggots every put in, bag was bream and good skimmers. Light tackle the order of the day with such cold-water temperatures,

All lakes have just defrosted Friday eve and Saturday,  but some good carp have come out also perch, rudd, roach, ide, skimmers and Bream out. Best bait is maggot. Water temperature is cold 1.3 deg.
