Mostly Cloudy, ambient temperature 12 deg,  humidity 72%, Wind calm rising to W 7 mph, barometer 1019.4 mb dropping, moon phase Full, water temp 7,3 deg,  DO 15.9, PH 7.55, conductivity -65.

Maggot with maggot feeder, pellet over pellet fed, and sweetcorn well done lads nice weights for March.

Tony alternated between bomb and feeder to far bank used corn and maggot on hook.

 

Sunday 28th March is the Start of a 8 match Spring league alternating between Lookout and Bowes drop worst 2 matches, names and deposits being taken now 0191 4100449

 

General

Water temperatures have held despite a frost very early on Wed morning and rose to 8.1 to 8.3 on Sunday, fish feeding well, & moving and getting some good colour to the water.

Some very good catches out all around the lakes and choices of methods for choice of target species to gain high rates of catch is now essential. Feed very little and every now and then

Maggot, maggot feeder, pellet over angels feed pellets, groundbait, sweetcorn on hook, Luncheon meat cubes, and paste (try make it out of angel pellets) just turning on with water temp going above 8 deg..

Lookout

Some excellent weights of 58lb, 57lb and 56lb on Wednesdays Army match and all around lake had good weights. One angler had 17 tench as well as carp also silvers, a good few anglers had some nice sized Crucians so all species are now on to feeding.

Bowes

Mark Smith Jnr on Thursday caught 39 carp to 7lb, together with Ide, Roach and Rudd, all on waggler fishing peg 3,  on Friday Mark caught 33 carp together 11 silvers on pole at depth and came up to 20 inches 16 mtres out on peg 40

Bassetts

Following the trend of the other two lakes all species are now feeding and some good catches being caught. Alan Edwards from Washington caught a lovely Golden Orfe at 2lb 8oz as well as smaller crucians, ide, rudd, roach, and numerous carp to 3lb 5oz.

Ted Fuller had 14 carp between 3lb to 5lb, as well as smaller carp, and good bag of silvers.

Some good sized fish as well as good numbers being caught.
