General

Some good catches especially after the rains even though water  temperatures dropped with all the rain and east  winds this week but this did not stop Bowes producing 109lb 8oz in the 5 hour match on Sunday.  Some major PH changes with the rain coming from the east and bringing in pollutants from Europe, however fishing has been outstanding for overnight season ticket holders.

Bait tips  Feed angel pellets mixed with maggots in pole cup or feeder to get some good fish into your swim, keep trickling some feed going into your swim and try pellet on the hook, if that does not work give maggots on the hook a try and have sweetcorn and luncheon meat as hook baits back up.

Methods working are tip, pole, waggler with some success with ledger.

Lookout

Some cracking bream & skimmers out this week on pellet and they are feeding very well, there are signs of them getting ready for spawning soon. Tench were caught on hemp and caster as feed and triple maggot on the hook. Chopped worm encouraged the perch to feed and worm and caster on the hook.  George Mulcroft from Manchester catching 16 carp, tench, skimmers with his best 9lb 2oz.also a Koi of 6lb 9oz (his first Koi), Rudd and golden Rudd in good shoals can be caught on double maggot whilst feeding maggot. Carps preference this week has been banded pellets over angel feed pellets, although paste is working also. Ide, Crucians all feeding well.

Bowes

A ton up bag of 109lb was caught on Sundays match all on pole and bait was paste by Brian Hall, whilst hair rigged, banded and soft hooker pellets also caught well this week.

Chris Owers in a 3 hour match on Wed evening caught 52 lb of carp on paste, and Ray Wallace landed a 14lb 14oz carp on pole during the evening match.

By adding caster and maggots to Angel feed pellets some good carp were brought into swims and kept there as long as you fed small amounts very often best out 21lb 6 oz common.

Bassetts

has had good Rudd, Roach, Ide, carp, koi, skimmers, crucians, tench, and gudgeon all caught well this week, keep trickling in the angel feed pellets or maggots to get the fish in the swim and some good catches have resulted.  One junior angler Lee Wakefield from Gateshead had a good day  beating his dad with 65 fish caught whilst dad only had 52, Lee also had the biggest fish a carp of 7lb 4oz.

Coaching is on through the holidays most mornings from 9am ’til noon just phone 0191 4100449 to book a place.
