General

Water temperatures climbed to 12.5 deg by Thursday dropped to 11.6 by Sunday

Some records being broken both in catch rates and numbers of anglers this week with all having a great time fishing and great numbers and quality of fish caught.

Feed little and often to get fish into your swim and don’t overfeed once in just feed enough to keep you catching however it is worth keeping another swim fed in case fish dry up in the one swim.

Some excellent fishing on all lakes and best bait has been feeder with angel soaked pellets with added fishmeal and pellet banded or hair rigged.  Using top 3 on pole or using float tight in margins just of reeds at first shelf has anglers catching high numbers of fish in excess of 50 carp in half-day sessions, plus great numbers of silvers.

Paste now working as is pellet, maggots, worm cocktail is better than just worm, luncheon meat cubed or punched is working well. Several season ticket holders coming in at 5 am or evenings have bagged some quality specimen fish.

After work evening ticket from 4pm till 8pm proving very popular with some tremendous late catch rates

Bowes

Pleasure anglers are finding this fishing exceptional early and late in the day, depending on wind and light conditions.

Ian Dixon  having had large double carp each night at approx 9 pm right on dusk for 3 nights in a row, and Paul Wood also taking large doubles on Bowes at 9 pm in the evening.

Pellet Waggler has produced very well with Mark Smith catching over 70 carp to 7lb on this method, also several silvers.

Angel pellets soaked to form paste or pellets and maggot added also Groundbait feeder with maggot and caster really pulling carp to swim.

Lookout.

A very busy week with some angler having their best days fishing they can remember and water temperatures have not rose that much yet in fact dropped from Thursday!

Jimmy Hagan at 5 am produced a fish a chuck until 9 am on Lookout.  Norman Eden catching 79 fish in his half day session on Pellet and maggot over angel pellets including  carp, tench, good skimmers, Golden Tench and Rudd. Anthony Longstaff fishing up in the water had a great day and even managed to catch a 3lb tench at 18 inches of the surface on maggot feeding angel pellets over the top! Derek Potter fishing peg 16 aa had 68 comprising carp, roach, perch, skimmers, fishing on pole up in water with a 15 inch hook length, tight to left in margin just of first shelf, fed little and often, using pellet on hook over angel pellets then tried tip and caught some carp but moved back to pole in the side.
