General

As water temperatures go down it is critical to lighten up on terminal tackle and use lighter tips, follow watercraft including wind direction for choice of pegs,  as well as make sure you understand where the warmer thermals are in the water. There is still seeds on aquatic plants and berries on bushes allowing for extra feed for the fish as they blow off the plants specially in margins.

Some good catches obviously not in quantities of the Summer warmer water temperatures but some very good specimen size fish Good Carp to 28lb 4oz,  Koi to 8lb 9oz, Ide, Rdd, Roach, Bream and Skimmers, Crucians and Perch also some nice tench both green and golden still getting caught.

Lookout

Some good catches obviously not in quantities of the Summer warmer temperatures, but some very good specimen size fish.  Good Carp to 11lb 2oz, with lots of 4 to 5lb also coming out,  Koi to 8lb 9oz, Ide, Rudd, and golden Rudd, Ide, Orfe, Roach, Bream and Skimmers, Crucians and Perch also some nice tench both green and golden still getting caught.

Maggot, Caster, pellet, doing the best on the hook with paste catching also pinkies bring in smaller fish.

Choice of pegs to watercraft and wind direction needed to be very selected now water temperature is lower.

Bowes

Some nice fish coming out with best at 28lb 4oz a male common in stunning deep winter golden colours, smaller carp being caught now averaging  20 in a session to a good angler.

Maggot, Caster, pellet, doing the best on the hook with paste catching also pinkies bring in smaller fish.

Choice of pegs to watercraft and wind direction needed to be very selected now water temperature is lower.

Bassetts

This sheltered pond is producing some cracking Ide, Orfe and rudd to over 2lb, carp at 5lb 2oz out this week, rudd, crucians, tench and skimmers still are being caught in smaller numbers than the warm summer.

Maggot, pinkies, pellet working well with paste still doing some good on the hook.

Coaching is all about winter fishing and targeting species specific in cold water temperatures.
