General

Fishing excellent despite some heavy rain this week, with some excellent examples of specimen size fish of all species being caught in mint condition. Water temperature has been down and crept up again to hold in the 16s warm enough to keep fish feeding very well however dusk & dawn fishing stunning on all lakes. Strangely enough rain overnight produced some heavy surface pollution and altered PH will be interesting to see what the week produces in PH and pollution swings.
Fish tight in to the features which are reeds all around the edges including island, produces best results.
Hook Baits:- pellet, paste and corn doing well. Use worm and tip with corn, pellet, meat, etc as cocktails to increase range of species targeted and to add variety when swim’s goes off.

Lookout
A lot of very happy anglers this week with lots of new faces including many river anglers who have caught species they have not caught before ie Koi, Ghosties, golden tench and golden rudd, orfe. From peg 20 around bankside to 34 on Sunday a big head of crucians came out.

Norman Eden close in on peg 16aa, using pellet took 35 fish in a half day session 11 carp to 4lb, 2 crucians, 2 golden tench, 3 tench average 3lb and skimmers.
Best fish out a Koi of 11lb 3oz, and lots of ghostie’s out including a stunning silver ghostie caught by Diane Jackson which weighed in at 7lb 7oz.

Bowes
Some great numbers out by pleasure anglers Neil Brown taking over 200lb on a couple of separate days during the week when enjoying a change whist on holiday. Some good double figures showing heavies landed on pole this week was 25lb 8oz, whilst Ian Dixon fly fishing on the evening session had some excellent doubles.
Adam Kent from Yorkshire targeting larger carp took three 20s and 8 over 10lb.
Wed eve match Tommy Marshall his last cast produced a lovely 16lb 2oz leather which has never been reported out since stocking four years ago.

Bassetts
Fished tight in to reeds this pond produces so well,
Amy white 9 yrs old took 18 fish with her best a 3lb 6oz carp which Amy managed very well, just needing a bit of help with the netting of the carp.
John and Jordan Carson had a half day and took 56 fish and 63 fish respectively their dad was thrilled for them.
Mark Smith taking a half day session to chill out but didn’t chill as he never stopped catching and had to put his road out of the water to get a cuppa.
