General

What a difference in the weather at last we have the sun, warming water temp to 19.5 deg making fish feed furiously, in cloudy conditions and dusk and dawn have seen fantastic pleasure catches both in numbers also quality and size of species. But saying that the barometer has been snuggled between optimum fishing range of 1012 to 1024 mb.
In these water temperatures all hook baits are doing well, but the larger the bait the larger the fish is very true in warm water temperatures (rare in the north). Get your feeding patterns correct little but very often and you will bag up big time.
Hook baits:- Pellet soft hooker, hair rigged, & expander all producing, Paste try using angel pellets soaked to form paste and chill in fridge overnight. Worm as a cocktail with sweetcorn, maggot or caster doing well, as is maggot (multiples) & caster (multiples) producing well, meat cubes, & sweetcorn also working well.
Feed angel pellet (be sure to plop them to sound as if we are feeding to attract the fish to your swim) or soak and mix with maggot, caster or chopped worm. Balling in groundbait also mixed with maggot, caster or chopped worm works a treat.

Lookout mixed coarse

Magic to see all the big carp and Koi’s cruising the surface taking fly’s and insects from the reeds, you need to wait for some cloud cover to get them back down feeding on the bottom.
All the fish species feeding at their best in the year because of water temperatures with some good Rudd, Golden Rudd, Golden Orfe also Blue Orfe and Ide as well as Roach, Perch (loves worms). Our stock skimmers just turning golden and will be mature next year, lots of bream to 8lb 3oz out, tench best reported 6lb 8oz, and Golden tench to 2lb plus, Crucians in huge numbers, as well as Koi to 9lb 10oz, and double figured carp. All species feeding like there is no tomorrow.
Best reported bag was 216 fish in a session by Alan Hedley from Gateshead who has not fished this year since becoming a dad he loved his day.
Most pleasure anglers should be averaging a 100 plus fish with rudd on the drop

Bowes Carp

Getting your method and feed patterns correct will give you tremendous sport and choosing pegs according to wind.
Season ticket holders coming in early morning or doing an overnight stay are producing excellent bags with specimens mainly being targeted. Ian Dixon catching doubled figured carp to 26lb this week with early morning spells.
Colin Thompson in an afternoon session from peg 16 to still water at the back of the island had fish a chuck until he left, his average weight of a fish was 6lb.
Mark Smith Snr & Jnr have had
Many doubled figured carp coming out with some 20s not seen since stocking them, and pleasure anglers having exceptional days.

Bassetts mixed coarse
