The National Teams and Competition Group of the Angling Trust are delighted to announce the International teams for 2018.

The squads selected are;

Men’s Shore squad – Ian Bowell, Andrew Dugdale, George Smith, Kenny McCoy, Neil Cutler, Ben Arnold, Richard Yates, Saul Page, Richard Yates, Gareth Griffiths, Darren Newland, Ian Dancey, Julian Shambrook, Bill Lindfield, Ian Golds, Henry Randell, Dean Conway, Tom Bagnall, Malcolm Stote, Dave Lane, Mike Groves, Andy Gallagher, Toby Oldfield and Callum Graham.

Junior Shore squad – Owen Dunn, Riley Price, Owen Strange, James Slater, Oliver Saint, Ben Cloke, Riley Price, Adam Molloy and Thomas Ryder.

Youth Shore squad – Ben Eggleton, Adam Howard, Dillon Thompson, Warren Cutting, Rory Eastlake.

FIPS-M World Championship teams are;

FIPS-M 35th World Men’s Shore Angling Championships to be held in Conwy, Wales from 20th – 27th October 2018 as below;

Team – Saul Page, Richard Yates, Gareth Griffiths, Darren Newland, Ian Dancey, Julian Shambrook, Bill Lindfield (assistant manager) and Ian Golds (manager).

FIPS-M 25th World Ladies Shore Angling Championships to be held in held in Conwy, Wales from 20th – 27th October 2018;

The Angling Trust are seeking more ladies to come forward to apply for Team England.

FIPS-M 27th World Youth Shore Angling Championships to be held in Manta Rota, Portugal from 6th – 13th October 2018 as below;

The Angling Trust are seeking more youth anglers to come forward to apply for Team England.

FIPS-M 18th World Junior Shore Angling Championships to be held in Manta Rota, Portugal from 6th – 13th October 2018 as below;

Team – Oliver Saint, Riley Price, Adam Molloy, Thomas Ryder, Ben Cloke, David Graham (manager) and Chris Clark (assistant manager).

FIPS-M 27th World Big Game Fishing Championships to be held in Frontignan, France from 29th September – 6th October 2018 as below;

Team – Jack Challis, Peter Bailey, Jonathan Patten and Andy Atkins (squad/manager).

FIPS-M 21st World Championship for Long Casting of Sea Weights to be held in Caserta, Italy from 2nd – 9th June 2018 as below;

Team – Steve Swales, Martin Osborne, Jamie Blakeman, Stephen Boyt, Duane Lockwood, Miles Bieber, Kevin Southey, Meirion Pritchard, Danny Stone, Owan Moyle, Mark Matthewson and Jay Lee (manager).

FIPS-M World Championship for Shore Angling Masters (over 55) to be held in Algarve, Portugal from 10th – 17th November 2018 as below;

SALC Home International Championship Shore Teams are;

SALC Home Men’s Shore Championships in Loch Fyne, Scotland from 2nd – 8th July will be as follows;

Team – Ian Bowell, Andrew Dugdale, George Smith, Kenny McCoy, Neil Cutler, Ben Arnold (reserve), and Richard Yates (manager).

SALC Home Youth Shore Championships in Loch Fyne, Scotland from 2nd – 8th July will be as follows;

Team – Ben Eggleton, Adam Howard, Dillon Thompson, Warren Cutting, Rory Eastlake, Mark Hurcombe (manager) and Malcolm Stote (assistant manager).

SALC Home Junior Shore Championship in Loch Fyne, Scotland from 2nd – 8th July will be as follows;

Team – Owen Dunn, Riley Price, Owen Strange, Oliver Saint, Ben Cloke, James Slater (reserve), David Graham (manager) and Colin Olver (assistant manager).

This year there will be no Ladies team selected for the SALC Home Internationals in Loch Fyne, Scotland.

The England Boat Teams were formally selected last year for the World Championships in Setubal, Portugal from 15th – 22nd September and the SALC Home International in Ireland from 13th – 15th June. The World Shore Pairs team were also formally selected last year for the World Championships in Spain from 21st – 28th April.

The Angling Trust would like to wish all the England Teams the very best of luck when competing in the World Championships and Home Internationals this year.

The National Teams and Competition Group are seeking further England Applications for the Ladies, Youth and Masters (new category) teams to compete in the FIPS-M World Shore Championships this year. Unfortunately, there has been a decline on applications received for these categories and in order to send full squads the Angling Trust would need to receive more applications. The closing date for entries is 5th May 2018. Anyone interested in applying must have individual membership of the Angling Trust.

The Angling Trust is also seeking applications from anyone interested in taking part in the 2019 World Ladies Shore Championship, the 2019 World Shore Pairs Championship and the Masters Shore Championship all taking part in the World Games in South Africa. The closing date for entries is 5th May 2018. Anyone interested in applying must have individual membership of the Angling Trust.

There have been no FIPS-M World Clubs teams that have applied for the 2018 World Championship, however if any member clubs in affiliation as membership to the Angling Trust wish to apply then they may be considered for the World Club Championship in Catanzaro, Italy from 19th – 26th May 2018.
