News release from the Angling Trust

Following consultation with the Angling Trust Division 2 National Championship teams for 2013 asking where they would like to see the Division 2 National Championship take place next year, whether it be on natural venues or a Commercial Fishery the vote shows in favour of keeping it on natural venues.

After receiving 26 replies from a possible 42 teams these have all been counted and the votes are;
9 for Commercial Fisheries
8 for Canals
2 for Rivers
7 for Canals and Rivers

It is important to realise that just over a third of the votes are still in favour of Commercial Fisheries.

The Angling Trust would like to thank the teams who have taken part in the consultation process and can confirm that in 2013 they will be holding the Division 2 National Championship on a natural venue.  The Angling Trust Competitions Committee will now look for a suitable venue for next year’s Division 2, as this year’s  event was on a canal it is hoped that they can find a river venue with appropriate HQ.  Date to be announced.

The Angling Trust will still be piloting a Commercial Stillwater Championship at Lindholme Lakes Fisheries on 17th August.  This will be an exciting opportunity for teams who also take part in the Division One and Division Two National Championships to also fish.
