The weekend of March 16-18, 2007, saw the launch of a UK first for Chartech International Ltd. The inventive outdoor mapping specialist, whose clients include the world famous explorer David Hempleman Adams, launched the UK’s first plastic 100% recyclable Ordnance Survey OS Selectâ„¢ Explorer® and Landranger® maps on the Ordnance Survey stand (OU 170) at The Outdoor Show, NEC Birmingham.

Based at Hope in the Peak District National Park, Chartech was the first UK Company to add value to Ordnance Survey maps successfully by introducing a range of laminated versions almost twenty years ago, culminating in the brand Aqua3®.

Once again Chartech announces another UK first with its next generation of maps, the Aqua3® Evolution series.

This evolution in map technology has been achieved by using lightweight but tough polypropylene plastic paper, resulting in the Aqua3® Evolution OS Select™ Maps – “So clear you can see where the cows have been” remarked one visitor upon inspection of the print quality.

Aqua3® Evolution OS Select™ Maps were specially designed to meet demanding requirements that regular paper maps just cannot meet; these are the ultimate maps for the serious outdoor enthusiast.

• 100% Waterproof
• Awesome Durability
• Incredibly Compact, Lightweight & flexible
• Available folded, flat or framed
• 100% recyclable

The Aqua3® website at http://www.aqua3.com enables users to order maps exactly to their own specifications, using Ordnance Survey data. They simply enter a postcode, place name, grid reference or x/y coordinates to choose the exact centre point and edges of their own Aqua3® Evolution OS Select™ Map.

“With the release of the Aqua3® Evolution series, Chartech has once again taken outdoor mapping to another level, and unlike everything else these days, it doesn’t require batteries!” says Mike Thompson, managing director of Chartech International Ltd.
