Weekly report by Marlene Mc Laughlin – 15th August, 2010

Pleasant weather has encouraged anglers to still use the little dries and nymphs at Cashel this weekend.

Maurice Whiteman (Ardmore, Derry) had a brilliant day on dries banking an amazing nineteen trout.  Maghera’s Bernard Mellon released half a dozen trout which took mostly dries too.  Martin Mellon (Portglenone) released twenty-three trout which took dries and suspender buzzers.  Billy Hazlett (Derry) released seven trout and killed one for home weighing 2lb 7ozs which took wee klinkhammers/parachute flies.  Gerard Quinn and son Adam (Maghera) accompanied by Joe Early also from Maghera bagged two trout for home which weighed almost 4lb that fell to a coachman and a black spider.  Roy Gregg and Barry Crainey (Portadown) banked one and four trout respectively and lost one which took a wee pink/white dry and a GH orange blob.  Henry McIlhone (Downpatrick) hooked and lost his four which took small black dries.  Mark Boyce (Dungiven) spent a couple of hours and released five lovely trout which took dries too.  John Hasson also from Dungiven released eight beauties which took assorted dries.
