Weekly report by Marlene Mc Laughlin – 16th May, 2010

Although the weather is slow to pick up anglers are not deterred from giving it a throw with us here at Cashel.

Maghera’s Bernard Mellon released twenty-two trout which fell to dries predominately.  Willie Lowry used assorted buzzers and some dries to bank seven trout while Adrian Guy (Limavady) released four trout which took dries and a couple of small lures.  Derry’s Billy Hazlett released seventeen trout over two days and bagged one for home weighing 2lb 10ozs which took dries and buzzers too.  Paul Ford, also from Derry, released five trout which took the same while John Hasson (Dungiven) released five trout which took wee suspender buzzers.

River Licences are also on sale here.

Breakfast is now being served at Cashel in the comfort of an open log fire with plenty of craic.

We are now taking group bookings for any angling club or corporate groups interested in a fun day.  Catering facilities are available in the adjacent Cashel Fishing Lodge.  Info and enquiries to Marlene at 17 Birren Road, Dungiven, Co L’Derry, BT47 4SH, Tel: 02877742159, email:casheltrout@hotmail.com
