Beautiful spring weather has made things a lot more pleasant at Cashel giving anglers the ideal opportunity to make good catches.

John Hall (Campsie) released an amazing thirty-one trout which fell to black buzzers.  Maghera’s Bernard Mellon released forty trout which also took buzzer assortment.  Greg English and Colm O’Kane (Draperstown) banked four and one trout respectively with trout averaging 2.5lb for home.  Jim Russell and Danny Walker (Monkstown) had a brilliant day bagging three each for home weighing a total of 17lb.  They also released fifteen more trout between them which fell to black/silver lures, bibios and black buzzers.  Cahir Monaghan and Ivor Smyth (Derry) also had a great time releasing twelve and fifteen trout respectively using black and silver lures.  Daniel Reilly (Maghera) bagged two nearing 4lb and released two more which fell to green/white cat’s whiskers.  Martin Bradley (Dungiven) released ten trout which took wee dries and zonkers.  Seamus Bradley (Swatragh) released ten and bagged one for home which weighed 2lb 11ozs.  His trout fell to the orange fritz.

Breakfast is now being served at Cashel in the comfort of an open log fire with plenty of craic.
