Report for week ending 18th october, 2009 by Marlene McLaughlin

First of all I would like to wish all the anglers who will be taking part in our annual competition on Saturday 24th October.  Good luck to all and enjoy this challenging and exciting day.

Brilliant temperatures have been giving anglers every opportunity to use dries and buzzers on the surface.  With that they have produced some fine trout for the table very near the double figures.

Thatch angling group from Limavady held a fun day with us during the week with trout being caught up to 9lb 9ozs.  Young Zarrin Martin released two weighing a total of 13lb 10ozs.  Bryan Mc Cluskey bagged two weighing 5lb 2ozs.  Ernie Mc Callion had one of 2lb 10ozs while Jim Mc Curry bagged two and released one which averaged just over 2lb.  Johnny Elder, John Long and Niall Murray all released one each around the 3lb mark.

They both lost a big trout each near the outlet. Roland Mullan (Feeny) finished off the evening with one which took the white baby doll.

We are now stock a splendid variety of fly and spinning tackle at Cashel Fishing Lodge.

We are now taking group bookings for any angling club or corporate groups interested in a fun day.  Catering facilities are available in the adjacent Cashel Fishing Lodge.
