Catch report for week ending 3rd October, 2011. Supplied by Chay Jackson.

Sailing Lake
The recent hot weather and lack of wind has seen Bream fishing slow right down with only a few fish to 5lb being caught, however the resident Carp have been more catchable than ever with lots of fish to 19lb being caught in the back bays with floaters outscoring almost every other bait and tactic. Mark Fellowes of Nuneaton spent an afternoon on floaters to take 5 double figure Carp with the biggest weighing in at 19lb 5oz.

Predator fishing has also been very good despite the hot conditions with Pike to 18lb and Zander to 9lb being taken on deadbaits.

Lance Davies of Rugby fished in front of the sailing club to take 6 Pike to 18lb on Mackerel deadbaits.

Boys Pit
The Boys pit as responded in kind to the hot weather conditions with lots of Tench, Bream and bonus Crucians showing. Biggest fish of the week came to Harry Bates who caught a new personal best 6lb 3oz Tench as well as 4 others to 4lb and a cracking Crucian of 2lb. Harry fished the waggler in a spot he had raked out the evening before, sweetcorn and maggots being the winning baits.
Simon Taylor of Melton Mowbray also got amongst the Tench with 14 to 5lb during a 24 Hour session, Simon legered hair rigged pellet in conjunction with PVA bags of pellet on a clear patch close to an Island.
