New transmission times on Sky 171

From the 1st February 2010 Country Channel programme schedules will be available on Sky 171 seven days a week at the following times: Monday – Friday: 7-8am, 12-1pm and 6-8pm and Saturday – Sunday: 7-8am and 12-2pm. The programme strands are Equestrian, Country Pursuits, Farming and Kaleidoscope (which includes lifestyle, arts and crafts etc.).

New series starting on The Country Channel from the 1st Feb 2010 include the ten-part fishing series Born to Fish, a twenty-four-part series called New Zealand Backcountry Fishing, a ten-part textile art series called Talking Threads, a thirteen-part series called Artworks and a five-part highlights programmes of the Oliver Townend Eventers’ Challenge Championship (OTECC).  We also look forward to the continuation of the hugely popular Face to Face interview series in which key figures with influence over the British countryside are interviewed. People interviewed for this series to date include the Rt.Hon. Hilary Benn MP, Orri Vigfussen (Chairman of NASF), Felix Dennis (publisher and poet) and Grahame Wynne (RSPB CEO).  We are also hoping to develop our lifestyle programmes within the Kaleidoscope strand (e.g. yoga).

If you miss anything on Sky 171 then please note that all Country Channel programmes (over 900) are available online 24/7 on the free-to-view Country Channel at www.countrychannel.tv.

Paul Aitken (Country Channel CEO and Chairman) is delighted by the development of The Country Channel, “The ongoing development of the channel is fantastic and we are delighted to extend our coverage and programme schedules on Sky 171.  We look forward to reaching a wider viewership and brining the British countryside to your screens.”
