Countryman’s Ball – Saturday 30 July, 2011

A large Countryman’s Ball is being organised by Eden Rivers Trust to raise much needed funds to improve the River Eden for wildlife.  The event will take place at Redhills, Penrith (near Rheged) on Saturday 30 July 2011.  Proceeds from the Ball will also go towards the Great North Air Ambulance.

The Ball will include a family ceilidh with music and a caller provided by local Ceilidh band ‘Jiggery Pokery’.  This will be followed by live music from local band the ‘Usual Suspects’ plus special guests.  There will also be a hog roast and real ales available from a well stocked bar and various fun and games for all ages.

Simon Johnson, Trust Director, said, “We hope this will be a fantastic event for the local area and we would like to extend a warm welcome to everyone to come along and enjoy themselves.  There will be excellent entertainment, food and company for people of all ages, and we hope to raise money for good causes along the way.”

The main event sponsor of the evening are local contractors Metcalfe Plant Hire.  Other businesses that have kindly sponsored the event are J & S Wilkinson, A W Jenkinson, Craketrees Manor, Penrith Tool Hire, T A Hodgson, Lyvennet Fencing and Contracting Services, Ian Mcholm, Vivid Events, James Mackay, and the Tirril Brewery.
