Above the dam at Riba Roja, a quiet calm, lake like stretch offers a tranquil setting. The waters are really clear and up to 90ft deep in places, with hardly any flow. Below the damn the flow naturally becomes hard and fast flowing. Weed beds provide hiding spots for the fish, making it a more challenging fishing experience with the hard fighting carp putting up a tremendous battle to test the hardy anglers expertise.
The Ebro fishes well all year round, and although wild carp can be hauled out at any time of year, the larger carp come out more frequently during the winter months. The huge cat fish enjoy the abundance of smaller fish in the river, which are a major source of food.
