Fishing report for week ending 17th March, 2013

Another great week at Emperor Lakes with some of our ‘lumps’ making an appearance, our new lake continues to fill and is awaiting further planting and stocking of some quality fish before it is opened to anglers, and our coarse lakes have been on fire, especially if you bring worms!

On the syndicate water, Nigel Rogers offered CC Moore ‘live  system’ baits to net a superb brace of carp; Nigel’s carp weighed in at 26lbs 10ozs and 35lbs 15ozs and both came from the swim known as ‘Dead End’ which has been very productive during cooler weather.

Highlight of the week must be the five fish haul for Colin Wood on the specimen day ticket lake. Colin used Pallatrax ‘Jungle’ baits to tempt commons of 10lbs 9ozs, 17lbs 15ozs and 19lbs 5ozs, then went on to take a brace of mirror carp including one of 35lbs 5ozs!  Adam Sloman also targeted the day lake to bag a smashing 20lbs+ mirror, again on CC Moore ‘live system’ baits from peg 11 and there have been plenty of double figure carp to other visitors.

Specimen PikePike have been on the bank too; Neil Edgars offered a static deadbait which was picked up by a snapper of 24lbs 8ozs, and venue regular Julian Chidgey visited to complete filming of the new Fox Predator DVD series. Whilst on camera, Julian struck into a super fish of 25lbs 12ozs which was beautifully marked and safely returned after a quick catch shot. Julian has been down a few times over the winter months and has successfully banked a good number of pike for clients who have taken advantage of his guided tuition services; find out more about Julian by viewing his Facebook pages.

Aimee’s Pool is continuing to fish very well with good numbers of tench, perch and roach; maggot will catch, but worm is the bait of preference for those putting together big nets of mixed fish.

Our social media pages are still gaining followers who are keen to get the latest news, join the banter and post their catches for all to see. If you are on Facebook or Twitter, be sure to check us out for up to the minute information.
