Steve PierpointVenue regular Steve Pierpoint worked hard with a five metre whip and a light 4×10 float at Peg 17 to record his first win of the season with 8-8-0 of bleak.
At the next peg Kevin Abigail pushed Steve all the way but fell just short with 8-0-0 of hemp caught roach caught on seven metre pole with a 1g rig.
Dave Kirk continued his good run with 6-1-0 of roach, which gave him third spot from Peg 22, one below the town bridge.
Fourth was Harvey Clapham with 6-0-0 of perch and eels from Peg 1, ahead of a fifth place tie between Leigh Gardner with 5-7-0 of roach from Peg 33 and Darren Bickerton with the same weight made up of a small tench plus perch and roach from Peg 64.
