Match FishingWith the river still holding a tinge of extra colour, weights were once again fantastic in this midweek qualifier, with all species feeding well. Coming out on top with a fantastic 18-7-0 bag of roach was Trevor Chalk. Drawn on peg 20 on the Town Water, Trevor fished hempseed at 13 metres slightly down his peg, to put together a winning net of redfins that contained individual specimens over 1lb in weight!

In second spot from peg 60 was John Freeborn. John attacked his peg with chopped worms and casters, feeding a line down each of his margins. After a few early perch, John latched in to two quality tench, which boosted his net to a 13-6-8 total.

Paul Glenfield claimed third spot from peg 36 below the Isbourne, with a mixed bag of roach, dace and chublets – as well as a bonus 5lb chub taken on waggler and maggot tactics!
