General
An Excellent week for catch rates with some anglers being able to target specific species, large bags of Rudd, some very good Ide and Orfe, lots of Skimmers, Roach, Tench and Golden Tench, Crucians, Perch, and Carp all being caught as well as some very big Bream.
The early part of the week with warm weather the fishing was better than after the hailstones (golf ball size), and heavy cold rain on Friday night.
Lookout
has produced some stunning silver catches as well as 85lb Carp in Saturdays match, the North wind and hailstones on Friday made fishing tight in margins where the warmer thermals were very productive. 10 mm banded angel pellet on the hook and a 10mm catapulted over hook bait gets the tip swinging round and good carp caught. Maggot, chopped worm, and caster as well as pellet doing very well for silvers, tench etc,
Bowes
Jimmy Hagan caught a 9lb 12oz Bream on worm tipped with maggot and fed maggot and caster, 8 metres out peg 16.
Very large ide, orfe and some good tench also getting caught, big bags of carp with double figured coming out well.
George Rudwell from Kent took seven double carp best 24lb 4oz a common from peg 19.
Good mixed bags or target species now.
Bassetts
Young 10 yr old Jordon from Durham had a great day Saturday taking over 125 carp and he stopped counting the silvers he fed 3mm pellets and maggot on the hook.
Some good catches on good days with orfe to 3lb 7oz being caught as well as one or two carp to over 4lb.
Coaching is on a Saturday and Sunday morning and schools and youth clubs also through the week. Please phone to book 0191 4100449
