The Geonav 3The Geonav 3, at 110 grams, is the lightest handheld chartplotter plotter on the market. It is also waterproof and has a long life lithium rechargeable battery which can be charged from an AC or DC supply.  As with other GPS Portable Chartplotters in the Geonav range, it can be used as a satellite navigation system on a boat, in a car, on foot, on a bike or when skiing. On board a boat it can be used as a back up to a large screen plotter or provide fast, accurate navigation for canoes, kayaks, dinghies and dayboats.

With the Geonav 3, standard accessories include a carrying case, mounting cradle and cable for a 12 volt socket cable. Many optional extras are available such as a car bracket or bike bracket. The Geonav 3S is the same size but also has a barometer and barograph to show pressure trends and a digital compass. The Geonav 3 and 3S have a screen size of 2.2” and measure 110.5 x 52.5 x 21.5mm – about the size of a mobile phone.

The Geonav 4GIPSY and the Geonav 4C XS are slightly larger with screen sizes of 3.5”. Both these models have NMEA output so can be connected to other instrumentation on board such as an autopilot, transducers or a VHF DSC. The 4GIPSY, which weighs less than 300 grams, also has an audible anchor alarm.

The 4C XS is designed primarily as a marine unit, has a built in battery charger and can also be powered by conventional AA batteries. It has an external video output so can be connected to a large screen display such as the Geonav 15Sunshine LCD monitor. This 15” colour display provides a panoramic view of charts plus aerial photographs with Navionics Platinum chart cartridges. In addition to the standard accessories many optional extras are also available for both Geonav 4 units.
