The newly designed Inspiring Scotland 14:19 Fund, developed by Lloyds TSB foundation, has announced it is to invest £55m over 10 years in 24 charities and Get Hooked on Fishing is one of the charities selected and is scheduled to receive over £650,000 in the next 7 years.

Starting from its’ base at the Broom Fisheries in Annan the team will be seeking to expand it’s development programme across Scotland and to help improve the lives of 14 to 19 year olds.

The Scottish Government has invested more than £9 million over three years in the fund recognising that it’s crucial to equip young people with the skills to reach their potential and contribute to a more successful Scotland.

Get Hooked on Fishing Charitable Trust is widely recognised in the UK for the work it does with young people using angling as the key focus of their training.

Anne Moyle, their Chief Executive said ‘this is fantastic news, all of the hard work that Sue Coulthard and her local team have undertaken on a voluntary basis over the past 18 months has really paid off.

We have had tremendous support from the Inspiring Scotland team and they have a real understanding that charities need to have longer term funding to achieve their goals. This gives the team in Scotland a great opportunity to develop a strong network across the Region.’

The Trust has registered as a Charity in Scotland, charity no SC040038
