Hardy & Greys Japan Ltd has sponsored the “Gyo-San-Jin” (Fish-Mountain-Men) competition in Osaka, Japan.

The event, known as the Hardy Festival 2008, was organised by Mr Kanjiro Nakao, a bamboo rod maker and ceramic factory owner. This is the 13th year of the event which involved over 70 anglers.

The winner, Mr. Kazutaka Nakamura was presented with a new Hardy Featherweight 7’ #3 rod by Yukio Mikoshi of Hardy & Greys Japan Ltd

Mr. Kazutaka Nakamura said:
“I will be transferred to China next year for work and unfortunately I won’t be able to go fly fishing while I am in China, however, I promise to take part in the competition next year and defend my title.”

Hardy & Greys, International Commercial Director, Martin Kelly commented:
“We have always had a long and successful relationship with Japanese anglers, so it was particularly pleasing to see so many at the event.”
