-Further details of annual angling competition announced-

Liverpool, 22 May 2006… Further details have been announced regarding Ireland’s premier angling festival, King of Clubs, with new venues being added alongside a return to tried and tested waters.

Sponsored by Tourism Ireland and Irish Ferries, the low fares ferry company, King of Clubs takes place between 11 and 15 September 2006, and offers competitors a massive £3,000 prize for the overall winner, £500 for the heaviest catch each day and lots more prizes amounting to an amazing £17,000*.

There is something for every matchman in the choice of venues.  The prolific Church Lake section on Lough Gowna has been brought into play, alongside Eonish Lake and Rosduff Shore. Glasshouse and Dernaferst have also been chosen because of their consistency and great stocks of roach, bream and hybrids.

Irish Ferries, the low fares ferry company, has produced a dedicated King of Clubs brochure detailing the five day competition, which includes six hours a day of  fishing, and the prizes, which will be decided on total weight for both the daily and overall competition.  Accommodation packages are also available with Irish Ferries Holidays, for both competitors and spectators, with ferry travel included.

“Ireland really does provide the very best fishing for anglers” said Ann Pye, Commercial Manager, Irish Ferries Holidays. “The King of Clubs is Ireland’s top angling festival and we aim to keep it that way by constantly improving the venues, at the same time as offering the lowest fares possible on ferry travel to Ireland.
