With nice weather comes some nice fishing and the Fathers Day present the Mickaluk family received was a sweet one. Drifing the river these days have proved to be very successful as the Chinooks are very fresh and full of energy. The father of the bunch slammed this upper 30lber in the first pool of the day, it was gently released, attached is his pic, as well another group photo of his three boys and the guides. We had an awesome trip on the water, see you next year.

Our other guests also proved that big fish can fall to a wigglin menace and John senior is holding a 43” inch dime bright Chinook, it was a battle that took John across the river and downstream, then muscled this barn door into the net. Attached is John with his catch and release monster King Salmon, with aid from his son John. John junior was his partner and John tussled with the best we had, landing three nice Salmon, all very fresh in from the ocean. Attached is one of John junior’s fish.

With the arrival of Killer Whales in the harbor this morning, we got close up action of the Killers thrashing on the surface as they fed on Chinook salmon. Their entire body made waves likes a large boat. At this time the fishing really slowed off, as the Chinooks were not relaxed. This gave us the opportunity to run up the river assuming the Killers chased in the fish to the river. This proved to be correct as 11yr old Thomas landed this respectable 20lb Chinook while back trolling, attached is his pic.

The peak season is getting very close and with the arrival of the Killers so does the arrival of the fish for the season. Next weeks Canada Day guests are the Chacalias group, the Adams, Kraznov’s.
