The 20th FIPSed Ladies’ Coarse Angling World Championship will take place this year on the river Sava, near the town of Radece in Slovenia on the 23rd and 24th of August.

This venue is not unknown to English anglers since there have been several other Championships fished there in recent years.

England Ladies’ are currently number two in the FIPSed world rankings, second only to Italy.  Just like the Disabled and Veterans teams the Ladies’ team are not sponsored, and have to raise all the money themselves if they wish to compete.

This exceptionally experienced squad is made up of two former Individual World Champions in Wendy Locker and Emma Pickering, and with numerous podium finishes under their belt the team is hoping to improve on last year’s disappointing result in Holland.

With Samantha Perkins deciding not to nominate this year, Jeannette Halliday will join the team, and both England Manager Dave Brooks, and Coach Joe Roberts are confident that Jeannette will be an excellent addition to the squad.

England Ladies’ squad:
Julie Abbott
Emma Pickering
Wendy Locker
Samantha Sim
Helen Dagnall
Jeannette Halliday
Manager: Dave Brooks
Coach: Joe Roberts
