This week has seen a mixture of weather with bright calm days and the weekend being very windy and overcast. The rod average is 3 fish per angler. The water temperature is 20C.

The best bag of the week went to Mr T Bowler of Abergele who caught 6 fish for 17lb. Two of his fish were over 4lb. Mr B Japheth of Caernarfon also had a good day and caught 6 fish off Nantglyn Bank. The bag weighed in at 13lb 7oz. Mr R A Griffiths also had a good day and went home with 6 fish for 11lb 12oz. He caught them all on Black and Yellow Lures and Cats Whiskers.

The boat hotspots this week have been Tower Bay, The Quarry, Hafod Lom Woods and Nantglyn bank. The best fishing method has been Intermediate lines fished with lures and booby’s. The bank hotspots have been between the Dam and Visitor Centre, Tower Bay and Nantglyn Bank. The best method has been slime lines fished with wets, black Dabblers and Diawl Bachs.

This weekend saw the Ty Nant competition take to the water. Everyone who took part enjoyed it and caught a few fish despite the wind. Unfortunately I cannot give the results as I do not have a copy.

Top flies of the week have been Dabblers, Cats Whiskers, Various booby’s and Lures, Buzzers, Nymphs and Hoppers.
