The Angling Trust are asking for interested parties to nominate for the chance to represent England in the prestigious FIPSed Lure Fishing World Championship.  Further information regarding the World Championship is available at http://www.ncffi.ie/wcbfc/

The 6th Carnivorous Boat World Championship will take place on Irelands Upper Loch Erne from the 9th to the 13th October 2013, and England will enter a team for the first time ever.

Dick Clegg, OBE, International Events Manager for the Angling Trust visited the venue on behalf of the FIPSed technical commission last October and was excited about the prospect of England entering a team.  The Angling press issued a short statement from Dick, and several anglers made contact all showing an interest in being part of the squad.

Lure FishingEx PAC webmaster Mike Skipper was appointed manager of the team and given a three year contract in which to set up a squad selection programme. The team will consist of three pairs of anglers with a manager, a coach and a delegate making up the squad, and all of whom will have to be members of the Angling Trust.  As with other teams representing the Angling Trust, if no sponsor is found then teams will have to self fund their participation in the World Championship.

Mike Skipper, England Manager said, “It is a fantastic honour to be selected to manage the England squad through its first three formational years. Developing the England participation in what must surely be one of the most exciting prospects on the lure angling scene today. This event will open up challenges a plenty for England’s ever growing number of lure anglers, encouraging many more anglers into participation in this side of the sport.”

Anyone who is interested in applying should supply a cv to include; full name, home address, email address, date of birth, home and mobile contact telephone numbers, and a resume of the anglers last 3 years of Lure angling experiences. Sending these to Sandra Drew, Competitions & Events Manager, Angling Trust, Strelley Hall, Strelley, Nottingham. NG8 6PE or email; sandra.drew@anglingtrust.net  by no later than the 7th June 2013.

There will be a website launched this weekend at www.teamenglandluresquad.co.uk where further information on the event, Team England and the Angling Trust may be found.
