Weekly fishing report for the Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire & St Neots Cambridgeshire Area sponsored by Starmer Baits

Ian Mortimer was back along the Grand Union Canal catching some nice fish including mirrors of 21lb 12oz and 20lb 3oz. Plenty of skimmers are showing on section 8 at Grove Church from the early pegs nearest the lock and nice roach from the car park at Sandy Bridge.
 
Mark Fonseca had a 21lb 8oz common from North House Lake. On the same venue Craig Stevenson landed a 16lb 6oz mirror and 11lb 4oz common , Carlo Borromeo an 18lb 4oz common, Chris Bartlett a 20lb 2oz mirror and 15lb 8oz common, Robert Langdon an 18lb 10oz mirror and Roger Purkiss a 21lb 6oz mirror.
 
Plenty of roach, bream and tench continue to be caught from the South Lagoon with mostly silver fish coming out of the clear river.
 
At Beckerings Reservoir Mark Ridgeway tempted eight off the top to 22lb 8oz, bailiff Mick Stringer four off the top to 19lb and James Muncaster landed Little Gertie down in weight at 25lb 10oz. Lots of good roach are being caught with fish to 1lb 8oz reported plus tench in the 4-5lb bracket.

The winner of our July photo competition which closes on 31st July 2011 will receive 10kg of the new Starmer Baits Coconut Fish boilies. It is open to anyone (members and non members) submitting a digital photo taken on any Luton AC controlled water and it can be of absolutely anything eg a sunset on the canal, a nice fish, wildlife etc. The photos submitted cannot be over a month old, the judges decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into regarding the result.
