Weekly Report for the Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire & St Neots Cambridgeshire Area sponsored by Starmer Baits, Nash Bait & Nash TT

October’s photo competition winner will have the choice of 10kg of the new Starmer Baits Coconut Fish boilies or nearly £100 worth of Nash IC-1 and Nash Terminal Tackle. It is open to anyone (members and non members) submitting a digital photo taken on any Luton AC controlled water and it can be of absolutely anything eg a sunset on the canal, a nice fish, wildlife etc. The photos submitted cannot be over a month old, the judges decision is final and no correspondance will be entered into regarding the result. So get snapping and forward your pictures to our usual email address catchreports@lutonac.org or send from your mobile to 07704462635.

Following on from the theft from the Woodlands container Luton AC are asking that anyone with any spare tools eg spades, shovels, hammers etc that they would like to donate to the club should contact me Steve Sharp on 07704462635 and I will pass your details on to the Fisheries Management Team to arrange collection. Anything would be gratefully received as most of the clubs vital equipment has been lost.

Mirror CarpAt North House Lake James Muncaster took seven carp in two sessions with The Wanderer at 31lb, The Beast at 25lb 8oz, commons of 23lb 8oz, 19lb 8oz and 19lb plus mirrors of 21lb 4oz and 18lb 8oz. Mick Stringer caught three commons of 21lb, 17lb and 17lb. Carlo Borromeo fished the same venue where he tempted a 20lb 10oz common before switching to the clubs Beckerings Reservoir and landed a 23lb 7oz mirror. Also at Beckerings Scott Larman managed 4 commons and a mirror to 16lb during an overnight session.

The zander fishing has been very good this week on the South Lagoon with Phil Thomas fishing peg 23 having two doubles of 14lb and 10lb during the day. Carl Chandler had zander of 10lb 2oz, 9lb 5oz and 7lb 1oz on roach and bleak deadbaits while Mick Monroe had an 11lb 7oz zander on a roach deadbait and a 14lb 6oz pike on a sardine. The bream and roach fishing on the Lagoon is still very good with many bream to 7lb+ being caught.
Nearby on the river Mark Simmonds also found the zander catching a fish of 10lb 8oz.

Big perch of 2lb+ are now common captures on the Grand Union Canal and a visiting angler told me that today he had caught an estimated 3lb 8oz perch. His estimate was based on the 3lb 4oz perch weighed in at a river match he recently attended and his canal capture was a larger fish he thought. On the Grand Union Canal Roger Smithies had five carp to 16lb 6oz in a day session on CC Moores Odyssey XXX fished over 3kg of spod mix and boilies.

Common Carp
Carlo Borromeo – 20lb 10oz common
