George Rothwell skimmer breamDespite the cold weather there are still plenty of fish to be caught from the Grand Union Canal and when I dropped in at the Globe section on Saturday Phil Abrahams had been catching some nice sized perch on red maggot while a short distance away George Rothwell was getting some good skimmers on pellet.

At the South Lagoon James Herbert fishing peg 1 landed a 12lb 15oz zander and Carl Bennett also had a double figure zander of 11lb. On the adjacent North House Lake Andy Murphy caught a 30lb 4oz common.

James Muncaster was at Beckerings where he banked a couple of doubles and at the same venue Mark Ridgeway tempted 2 doubles while an angler known to us only as ‘shy Simon from Milton Keynes’ had an 18lber.
Several pike have been caught to low doubles and the carp anglers are still picking up bream to 6lb. Jim Badgery reported catching perch and roach.
