Luton AC held its AGM at the Airport Social Club on Thursday 25th March where members learnt that the club had invested over £20,000 in stocking and fisheries improvement work during 2009. This investment is ongoing and is reflected by the number of work parties taking place throughout March, April & May. Membership prices will remain unchanged for the coming season with all waters except the river sections remaining open for the full 12 months. It is hoped that the new Barretts Mere on the Tingrith Complex will be open for fishing on 1st June.
The next work party is over the weekend of 10th & 11th April at the Wyboston Complex repairing the track to the lakes and river. 20+ volunteers are required on each day and as machinery needs to be hired it is essential that those willing to attend register before 1st April. Unfortunately if there are not sufficient volunteers the weekends work will have to be cancelled as there is considerable expense involved hiring the machinery.
Check the web site home page for work party details and registration form or contact Dave Edwards at the club office on 01582-728114 or Joanne Edwards on 01582-603466 or 07903048280. Remember you will not need to pay the £10 work party levy (adults and intermediates) when renewing your membership for next season if you attend just one of the work parties.
