The latest work party took place on the Grand Union Canal and was well attended, in fact the police turned up in the Tesco car park amid fears that an angry mob was gathering!! We didnt have to worry though as it was only Luton AC member James checking up on us as he patrolled in his police car, James only had a couple of minutes to join us for a photo before getting called away.

LitterMany sacks of rubbish were collected although it’s a great shame that people use the canal hedgerow as a dumping ground in the first place. The worst culprits by far are irresponsible dog owners and, being an owner of a Rottweiler and Labrador myself, I’ve never been able to work out why people gather their dogs ‘doings’ in a bag then throw it in the hedgerow or leave it hanging from the branch of the nearest bush or tree!!

There are three more work parties in the coming months so if you are able to lend a hand please visit the website and register your details.
