Please note – if there are any incidents of anglers casting into another persons swim, then their ticket will be cancelled and the trial may be halted. This ticket is only available by phone or by post via the Membership Secretary – 01582 603466 (Leave a message). A second rod licence is also required to fish with a third rod.

A new rule that members should be aware of when specimen fishing Beckerings Reservoir, South Lagoon and North House Lake is that your unhooking mat must be a minimum size of 36″ x 24″ (915mm x 610mm) and well padded. Anyone found without a mat or using an inadequate unhooking mat will be asked to leave the water concerned immediately.

On the Grand Union Canal any angler seen casting and hitting moored boats with their leads will be asked to leave the fishery immediately. Leads cause damage to expensive paintwork so care must be taken when fishing near to boats. If you were to be caught casting leads at parked cars then the owners would more than likely prosecute you so please think about the potential for being prosecuted by the boat owners if damage is caused.

The bailiffs at Beckerings have highlighted that with the water levels still low the willows have started shooting in front of the platforms which could create snags when the level get back to normal. They have asked that anyone fishing Beckerings spend just a short time pulling some of these willow shoots out please.

There is a great underwater film taken at North House Lake by King of the Pond boss Mark Merola:

Mark Ridgeway fished Beckerings Reservoir landing two mid double figure carp. Mark reports that with the weather somewhat cooler the banks have been quiet.

Mark Merola landed a common from North House Lake known as The Shadow at 29lb 8oz.
